Job Description
We’re looking for a part-time team member to deliver and execute on two primary focus areas: Marketing & Communications Support and Platform Operations & Management. Playing a core role in supporting the growth of the mymizu network and movement, your responsibilities will include:
Marketing & Communications Support
Creating content for external communication channels, including website, social media, newsletters, emails, etc.
Supporting communications with external stakeholders
Translating content/communications from English to Japanese
Supporting on delivery of key marketing communications and projects (e.g. campaigns)
Supporting/leading on planning and delivery of in-person events (in Tokyo/Kanto area and potentially further afield if desired/possible)
Other marketing and communications, as needed
Platform Operations & Stakeholder Management
Stakeholder management, including:
Managing enquiries from a network of 2,500+ existing and potential Refill Partners (partner stores).
Managing and responding to feedback on the platform/specific refill spots.
Data management of the mymizu refill platform including:
Translating and approving Refill Partner profiles to be shown on the mymizu app
Updating data based on user feedback

Who are we looking for?
Required skills & experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (native Japanese level, at least business level English)
Strategic communication skills: ability to empathise with stakeholders and flex communication content and style according to the audience and goal
Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders in Japan
A strong desire to learn and make an impact through your work
Results-driven, with a can-do attitude to problem solving
Proactive self-starter who can work autonomously in a dynamic environment
Open, respectful communication & ability to work and communicate effectively in a remote team: willing to ask difficult questions and have open, honest and respectful discussions to ensure we achieve our collective goals
Ability to both give and take feedback in a respectful, constructive manner
Ability to pay attention to details and ensure quality of work
Language Requirements
Native level Japanese-language proficiency
At least business level English-language proficiency
Desirable Experience & Competencies
A strong understanding of sustainability / SDGs-related issues, especially in a Japanese context
Japanese copywriting skills / experience
Public speaking experience
Experience organising and managing events
Ability to work with software such as Google Suite, Notion, Slack, Mural, Zoom, etc
Project management skills: ensuring projects are delivered on time and roadblocks are addressed in a timely manner
Experienced in content creation

This role is mainly remote, with some in-person engagements (most of our team is based in Kanto, but applicants are welcome from anywhere in Japan)
Hourly Contract: Minimum 15 hours ~ maximum 30 hours per week

Remuneration Guidelines
Hourly Rate: From 1,075~1,800 yen/ hour (depending on experience and final job description)
*Indicative ranges for hourly rate, dependent on the candidate’s experience and with potential for growth based on results.
Working Hours & Style
FlexTime (with core hours agreed in order to facilitate regular internal/external meetings)
Largely remote, with some in-person time
Flexibility to work remotely overseas for up to 2 months a year, if desired
